    (Clinical Director, Lead Counsellor)

Master Social Worker, Psychotherapist, Clinical Traumatologist, Somatic Practitioner & Registered Rehabilitation Professional

Lisa leads our team with patience, empathy, positivity, and commitment. Lisa holds a Master’s Degree of Social Work from Carleton University and is also a Registered Rehabilitation Professional with the Vocational Rehabilitation Association of Canada. Lisa completed significant training as a Clinical Traumatologist; therefore, is able to offer a multitude of trauma-informed treatments.

During her studies, Lisa focused her program on individual, couples, and family counselling from an anti-oppressive structural social work perspective. She works with persons of all ages from children as young as 2 years old to senior citizens. Lisa continuously seeks opportunities to learn more through continued education, professional development, and collaboration with subject experts in order to truly be present with the client.

Her personal goal is to ensure that every person that reaches out for supportive therapy has the opportunity to engage. Through navigating her own disabilities, Lisa developed a deeper understanding of the experience one has when overcoming life’s challenges while being differently abled.

As part of her efforts Lisa tries to ensure that as many individuals, couples, and families as possible have access to services. Lisa always works collaboratively with the client every step along their journey to healing and recovery by encouraging clients to share their feedback so that the Forging Forward Team can do their very best to support their counselling goals.

Lisa is registered (RSW) in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
