    Intern Counsellor

    Tish (She/her) is completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. She previously completed her Bachelor of Arts with a major in Psychology (Honours) at Vancouver Island University. She plans to register as a Counselling Therapist in the province of Nova Scotia and a Psychotherapist in Ontario.

    Tish is passionate about providing mental health support to people using a culturally responsive, anti-oppressive, and holistic lens. She is committed to walking alongside clients through their journey of healing and growth in a manner that honours their individual stories. Collaboration, respect, and empowerment are her fundamental principles.

    Predominantly, she uses Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Interpersonal Therapy (IT), but also integrates interventions from Mindfulness-based approaches and Narrative Therapy (NT). Although her experience thus far has focused mainly on supporting adolescents and young adults, she welcomes clients of all ages and from all walks of life.

    Tish is currently a student affiliate in good standing with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists.
