    Counsellor

    Malisa comes to us with an Honours Bachelor Degree in Forensic Psychology from UOIT, as well as a Social Service Worker diploma from Durham college. She is also currently working towards a Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work through Laurentian University.

    In the past, Malisa has worked extensively with children, youth, and parents focusing on play based attachment therapy for caregivers and children, after having received specialized training from the Theraplay Institute. She also has experience working in crisis driven environments that require intensive case management and immediate safety planning.

    Malisa remains passionate about approaching each client with a strengths based, trauma informed and anti-oppressive lens. She works to provide a multi-framework therapy to fit each clients unique and individual needs.

    Malisa offers services both in person and virtually to deliver evidence based practices such as Brief Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Theraplay, and Attachment Therapy. She endeavours to help clients feel supported and empowered by helping them develop skills and tools to work towards mental wellness and wellbeing.

    Malisa is registered (RSSW) in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
