Forging Forward staff are Registered Master Social Workers, accredited with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Services Workers. Lisa is a trained Registered Rehabilitation Professional as well as a Clinical Traumatologist.

Lisa Bowman, MSW, RSW, RRP, CT-TITCCounsellor, Psychotherapist and Business Owner
Lisa comes to our team with a Master of Social Work from Carleton University and is registered with Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. During her studies, Lisa focused her program on individual, couples and family counselling from an anti-oppressive structural social work perspective.
Emily McKenzie, MSW, RSWCounsellor
Emily McKenzie, received her Bachelor of Social Work from Lakehead University, and her Master's of Social Work from the University of Calgary. She's spent time working in Northern Ontario with Indigenous Communities, and in Downtown Toronto with marginalized youth, families, adults, and seniors. In the Ottawa Valley, she works in children, youth, and family mental health as well as with pediatric diabetes client. Her approach is collaborative and client focused.
Sydney Sheppard, MSW, RSWCounsellor
Sydney Sheppard comes to the team with a Master’s of Social Work (Advanced Standing: Mental Health and Health) from the University of Toronto, as well as a Bachelor of Social Work from Memorial University of Newfoundland.
